How Krillion Unlimited works

Three steps, about three minutes per round.

  1. Read the prompt

Each round of Krillion Unlimited gives you seven prompts such as "Name a fruit usually bigger than an apple". You have 25 seconds per prompt, or you can switch the timer off in settings.

  2. Type one answer

Answers are matched against our own bank. Capital letters, accents and simple plurals do not matter, and a wrong guess only costs you a few seconds, not the round.

  3. Sink with the rare ones

Common answers stay near the surface. Rarer answers sink deeper on the gauge and earn more points. The goal of Krillion Unlimited is to find the answer most players never think of.

What is Krillion Unlimited?

Krillion Unlimited is a free practice game for fans of the daily rare-answer trivia format. In the daily game, you get seven prompts that start with "Name a…", each with a short timer. A wrong guess costs only time, and a right guess scores more the fewer people think of it. The best answer for each prompt is a single hidden gem worth full points.

The daily game gives you one set of prompts a day. Krillion Unlimited gives you as many rounds as you want. Your first Classic or Endless dive each day starts with that day's seven prompts when we have them. Later rounds shuffle our practice bank together with every past daily prompt we have archived, prefer questions you have not seen yet in this browser, and only repeat once you have worked through the pool.

The aim is simple: to help more people practise, so the real daily game is more fun to play. Because the site is an unofficial fan project, we write our own prompts and build our own answer lists. We rank each answer by how common it is, split the list into six tiers and let you sink as deep as your answers allow. The official game decides its own scoring in its own way, so your depth here is a practice score and not a prediction of your daily result.

Three ways to dive

Classic dive mirrors the daily format: seven prompts, 25 seconds each, a wrong guess costs three seconds. Endless dive gives you 60 seconds of oxygen, and every right answer adds time back. The rarer the answer, the more oxygen you win. Topic dive works like Classic but draws all seven prompts from one category such as animals, geography or music, which makes it the best mode for training a weak spot.

Keep playing, keep learning

After each prompt, Krillion Unlimited shows two or three rarer answers you could have given. That short pause is where most of the learning happens. Players who read it improve quickly, because they start to see the pattern behind rare answers: they come from a narrower part of the topic than the first idea that comes to mind.

If you came here for today's official answers rather than practice, the Krillion answers today page lists them, and the Krillion hints page offers spoiler-free clues first. Once you have tried every dive, our list of games like Krillion points to other daily puzzles worth a go.

Tips for finding rare answers

  1. Discard your first idea. Whatever you think of first, thousands of other players think of first too. Move sideways to a neighbouring group before you type.
  2. Go narrower, not weirder. A rare answer must still be correct. The best ones are real members of the category that people skip, not random guesses.
  3. Use what you know best. If you play a sport, cook a cuisine or follow a genre, use that knowledge. Specialist knowledge is where rare answers live.
  4. Watch the clock on easy prompts. Bank a quick, safe answer on prompts where you have no ideas, then spend your saved seconds on the prompts where you can dig.
  5. Read the feedback. The rarer answers shown after each prompt of Krillion Unlimited are a free lesson in how the tiers work.

More ideas for specific categories are on each prompt page, and the how to play guide has a longer list.

Krillion Unlimited FAQ

What is Krillion Unlimited?

Krillion Unlimited is a free practice game for rare-answer trivia. You get seven prompts, type one answer to each, and score by how unusual your answer is. There is no daily limit, so you can play as many rounds as you like. It is an unofficial fan project: the questions and answer lists are our own. Read more about the site.

Is Krillion Unlimited free to play?

Yes. Krillion Unlimited is free, needs no account and has no daily cap. Your records stay in your own browser, so you can close the tab and come back later without signing in.

Is this the official Krillion game?

No. This site is unofficial and not affiliated with Krillion or its creator. If you want today's official puzzle, use the link in the footer to play the daily dive at krillion.io. Krillion Unlimited is for practice between daily games and for people who want more rounds.

How does scoring work in Krillion Unlimited?

Every accepted answer sits in one of six tiers, from Surface to Pearl. The rarer the tier, the more points you earn and the deeper the answer sinks on the depth gauge. A full Classic dive can reach 7,000 m. The scoring guide has the full table.

What counts as a valid answer?

Answers are matched against our own bank, ignoring capital letters, accents, punctuation and simple plurals. A close spelling is accepted only when it points to exactly one answer, and Krillion Unlimited tells you what it counted your answer as. If you think a good answer is missing, tell us after the round.

Where can I find today's official answers?

The answers today page lists the rarest picks for each of the seven daily prompts. If you only want a nudge, use the hints page, which never shows an answer.

Can I challenge a friend in Krillion Unlimited?

Yes. After a Classic dive, choose Challenge a friend to get a link. Your friend plays the same seven prompts, and the result screen shows both depths side by side. The link never contains your answers.

Do you save my dives?

Krillion Unlimited saves your best depths, recent answers and settings in your browser's local storage. Nothing is sent to our servers. You can share your dives, save your answers as a text file or clear the history from the My dives panel at any time.
